How to set up TereaTV IPTV on a Fire Stick in 5 minutes

The complete Fire Stick walkthrough for TereaTV IPTV, from enabling unknown sources to entering Downloader code 346867 and fixing the errors people hit most often.

What you need first

  • An Amazon Fire Stick or Fire TV, connected to your network
  • Your TereaTV IPTV username and password — from a plan or the free trial
  • About five minutes

Step 1 — Allow apps from unknown sources

From the Fire TV home screen go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options, then turn on Apps from Unknown Sources. Amazon warns you at this point; the warning is generic and applies to any app installed outside their store.

If Developer options is missing, go to Settings → My Fire TV → About and click the Fire TV Stick name seven times. The menu appears.

Step 2 — Install Downloader

Search for Downloader from the Fire TV search box and install it. It is free and comes from Amazon's own store. Allow it storage access the first time it opens.

Step 3 — Enter code 346867

Open Downloader, select the Browse tab, type 346867 into the box and press Go. The installer downloads — a few seconds on most connections.

Step 4 — Install and open

Choose Install when Fire OS prompts, then Open. When Downloader offers to delete the downloaded file, say yes: it has done its job and Fire Sticks are short on storage.

Step 5 — Sign in

Enter the username and password issued with your subscription or trial, exactly as sent including capital letters. The channel list and programme guide load on first launch — give it a minute — and after that it opens instantly.

The three problems people actually hit

  1. "App not installed"

Almost always storage. Uninstall apps you no longer use, delete the Downloader file, and try again.

  2. Login rejected

Retype the credentials manually rather than pasting, and watch for a capital I read as a lowercase l. If it still fails, live chat can confirm the account is active in under a minute.

  3. It buffers on the Fire Stick but not the phone

That is Wi-Fi, not the service. Move the stick to 5GHz, or use an ethernet adapter — it is the single biggest quality upgrade for about $15.

Getting the picture right

Set your Fire Stick display to match your television rather than leaving it on auto, and close background apps before a big live event. Older Fire Sticks with only 8GB of storage struggle when several apps compete; a restart before a match is a habit worth having.

Test it before you buy

The 24-hour trial gives you working credentials to run this whole setup with. If the install works and the picture holds at peak time, the pricing page has the plans.
