How many connections do I actually need?
This is where most people overspend or underbuy, so it is worth thirty seconds of thought.
- One connection — you watch alone, or the household always watches together on one screen.
- Two connections — a couple who sometimes want different things in different rooms.
- Three connections — a family with kids old enough to want their own screen. This is the most common choice.
- Four or five — a large household, or a house where the TV, a tablet and a phone are all running at once.
Remember that installing the app on a fifth device does not cost anything. You are only paying for simultaneous playback.
Which plan is genuinely the cheapest?
Per connection per month, the twelve-month three-connection plan at $140 is the lowest on the list — roughly $3.89. The twelve-month single connection at $120 is the cheapest way for one person to subscribe, at $10 a month.
If you have not used the service before, spending $15 on a single month, or nothing at all on the 24-hour trial, is a more sensible first move than committing to a year.
